Albany, NY, November, 2022– Mahogany Connections, a leading provider of career and community centered conferences, expositions and events, today announced its annual Capital of New York State Black Expo (CNYS Black Expo) will take place at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York. The change in location will enable accommodation for an increased number of vendor participation, events, speaker sessions, activities and more.

Tickets are available for the exclusive event at Ticketmaster.com.

In its fourth year, the annual CNYS Black Expo was developed to drive economic growth and business opportunities across New York State. Taking place in Albany, New York, a business and government agency hub of the state, the expo serves to engage local and regional business leaders, policy makers, academic institutions and communities across the region.

Following postponement due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Mahogany Connections is excited to bring the much-anticipated CNYS Black Expo back, even bigger and better than ever. In partnership with title sponsor, MVP Arena, the theme of the CNYS Expo is to encourage health and wellness. This year’s expo will provide attendees with health services and resources to increase awareness around key health topics most impacting local and regional communities. In addition, with many local small businesses and community-based nonprofits lacking opportunities to network effectively with similar entities within New York State, the expo will provide an opportunity to access a broad range of current and new potential customers and partners.

Tatiana Cunningham, Founder of the Capital of New York State Black Expo, said: “Minority-owned businesses have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, and have faced vast inequalities when seeking funding to drive growth and sustainability. Now, more than ever, it is critical that we create opportunities to drive increased success for businesses in our communities. The CNYS Black Expo will continue to provide a forum and space to increase awareness and engagement with businesses, customers and communities in New York state.”

In line with the theme of health and wellness, the 2022 CNYS Black Expo at MVP Arena will feature a mental health workshop. Exhibits, presentations, and exclusive performances by legendary artist, Slick Rick the Ruler and special performances by a gospel choir and African drummers  are scheduled. An event created for patrons of all ages, the Expo includes activities for youth, including a Kids Corner and teen summit. Influencers, entrepreneurs and policy makers from the Capital District will participate in speaker sessions.and a NYC and NYS political panel discussion.

The evening will conclude with the Annual CNYS Scholarship Gala. Taking place at 60 State Place Albany,NY, guests will gather to raise funds for future college students in the Capital Region. The annual gala will feature keynote speaker, Albany Business Review Market President, Walter Throne.
